JOHOR BAHRU: Property developer Eco World Development Group Berhad (EW Berhad) celebrated the opening of its West Lake Gardens @ Eco Tropics with a magnificent musical fireworks display and lively performances by in-house talents – the EcoWorld Choir and EcoWorld Symphony Drummers.
The 33-acre town park in Pasir Gudang, which is one of the largest in the state was officially opened by YAB Dato’ Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, Menteri Besar Johor. Also present at the event was Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin, Chairman of EW Berhad and Dato’ Chang Khim Wah, President & CEO of EW Berhad.
“We are starting 2017 on a high note with the opening of West Lake Gardens and we are proud and excited to offer a beautiful community space to be cherished by residents of Pasir Gudang. It has been our goal to turn this area into a much sought after address in Johor Bahru and we spent RM14.5 million in creating West Lake Gardens,” Liew shared in his speech.
Launched in 2015, the RM5.4 billion Eco Tropics is a mixed township known for homes that are inspired by the timeless architecture of The Hamptons resort on Long Island, New York. The township is the first gated and guarded development in Pasir Gudang.
EW Berhad President & CEO, Chang said that through Eco Tropics, EW Berhad has been steadily working at elevating the image of the Kota Masai neighbourhood in Pasir Gudang by improving accessibility and introducing amenities and facilities.
In 2015, EW Berhad collaborated with Jabatan Kerja Raya Malaysia to upgrade the main trunk road of Jalan Kong Kong and the developer is also building the new Senai – Desaru link. The link via Jalan Kota Masai (also known as The Middle Ring Road) has an estimated construction cost of RM12 million and is scheduled for completion by year-end.
“Our efforts to improve the Kota Masai locale have had a positive impact on the neighbourhood’s image and property values, resulting in more and more people being keen to call this area home,” said Chang.
The developer also has plans to bring in a hypermarket into the Eco Tropics commercial zone which will comprise shop lots and light industrial factories. A primary school will also be introduced in the township.
The launch ceremony of West Lake Gardens saw EW Berhad purchasers, residents from Pasir Gudang and neighbouring areas being treated to street acts, a live band and a night bazaar.
West Lake Gardens boasts a scenic lake and a smart design that makes it a reservoir for rainwater, which will be collected and reused to water the many gardens in Eco Tropics. It is built with numerous facilities, such as gazebos, gardens, outdoor gymnasiums and playgrounds and is open for all to enjoy.
The 991.6-acre freehold Eco Tropics is built along an eco masterplan with sizable green pockets throughout the township. Backlane gardens, jogging and cycling tracks are a common feature in the township. To date, EW Berhad has transplanted more than 2,000 trees in Eco Tropics to minimise the environmental impact of construction and to maintain the surrounding ecosystem.
Eco Tropics’ latest launch is the 20ft x 70ft Millsgate, 2-storey terraced homes that are priced from RM526,000 onwards. The Smart Homeowner Package is currently available with low down payment options, free SPA legal fees and 24 + 12 months home warranty.
