Official Opening of Eco Grandeur Interchange & Toll Plaza Enhances Connectivity in Puncak Alam


PUNCAK ALAM: Eco World Development Group Berhad (EcoWorld) today marked another significant milestone with the official opening of the Eco Grandeur Interchange and Toll Plaza, a landmark public–private partnership initiative designed to enhance connectivity and spur regional growth in Puncak Alam.

The ceremony was jointly officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor together with YB Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister of Works.

The new interchange on the Kuala Lumpur–Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR) will officially open to the public on 11 November 2025 at 6AM. It provides direct access via Exit 2502 to Eco Grandeur, a 1,400-acre integrated township, and Eco Business Park V, a 840-acre industrial hub. Completed in October 2025, the RM200 million project encompasses the interchange, toll plaza, road-widening works, and infrastructure upgrades to enhance connectivity and traffic flow across the Puncak Alam corridor.

This investment reflects EcoWorld’s proactive approach in delivering essential infrastructure from the outset of its developments. Beyond the interchange, the Group has undertaken public infrastructure upgrades — including road improvements and flood-mitigation measures along Jalan Meru Tambahan and Persiaran Moktar Dahari — benefiting not only its residents but the wider Puncak Alam community.

The new link is expected to significantly enhance mobility for residents and commuters, improve logistics efficiency for businesses, and drive economic growth in surrounding areas. To date, more than 4,600 residential and 215 commercial units have been completed in Eco Grandeur, with another 4,600 Rumah Selangorku (RSKU) affordable homes currently under development in support of the Selangor State Government’s housing agenda. In EBP V a total of 416 factory lots/units have been completed.

The Toll Plaza features 10 lanes — five in each direction — equipped with multiple payment systems including RFID, Touch ’n Go, Open Payment, and SmartTAG. Dedicated free-flow lanes enable smooth travel between Ijok/Kuala Selangor and Puncak Alam, while motorcycle lanes on each bound enhance safety and accessibility for all road users.

The Eco Grandeur–LATAR Interchange was developed through close collaboration between EcoWorld, government agencies, and infrastructure partners, reflecting the strength of Malaysia’s public–private partnership model in delivering impactful infrastructure for communities.
This project is expected to improve traffic distribution and reduce congestion along Jalan Meru Tambahan (JMT), particularly with the growing population within the Puncak Alam corridor. It will also catalyse further investment, stimulate local economic activity, and strengthen Selangor’s appeal as a hub for high-impact industries and foreign direct investment (FDI).

EcoWorld’s partnership with the Selangor State Government also extends beyond infrastructure development. The Group played a pivotal role in reviving the long-abandoned Projek Peneroka in Puncak Alam, which involved building new homes and providing compensation to 987 affected settlers. This initiative enabled families who had waited more than 17 years to finally own their homes in 2020, underscoring EcoWorld’s enduring commitment to community upliftment and social responsibility.

With the opening of the Eco Grandeur Interchange, EcoWorld continues to reaffirm its role not just as a property developer, but as a long-term partner in nation-building — creating developments that connect people, empower communities, and sustain future generations.
