EcoWorld honours parents at EWRO Fest 2016 with fun filled activities

KUALA LUMPUR: Eco World Development Group Berhad [EcoWorld] is honouring parents this month with a festival called EWRO Fest 2016 in 10 of its sales galleries across the country.

Inspired by the ongoing European Cup 2016, each EcoWorld gallery will feature a European country of their choice. EWRO Fest 2016 will kick off on 18 June and is a one of a kind experience which includes not one, not two but seven European countries! Visitors will be pleased to know that all 10 sales galleries will be dressed up in the theme of one of the seven countries – United Kingdom, Italy, France, Ireland, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands. From decorations to food and exciting fun activities the festival provides a perfect opportunity for everyone to soak in the unique experience each country offers.

Chairman of EcoWorld Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin said the Group wanted to hold a festival especially for parents in view of Global Day of Parents on 1 June as well as the festivities surrounding the European Cup.

Global Day of Parents is a United Nations initiative held to appreciate all parents in all parts of the world for their selfless commitment to children and their lifelong sacrifice towards nurturing this relationship. Widely celebrated in the United States as well as South Korea, EcoWorld is taking Parents Day a step further by turning it into a 3-week festival called EWRO Fest 2016.

“We are delighted to bring EWRO Fest 2016 to our communities in the Klang Valley, Iskandar Malaysia and Penang. These days, many young people are busy with work and may not be able to spend time with their family or travel, but that shouldn’t be an excuse. So we thought, why not bring the attractions to them instead. Visitors to EWRO Fest 2016 will be able to enjoy these attractions with their families and also spend some quality time together,” shared Liew.

“At EcoWorld, we create more than just a project. We also strive to create a community – a family within our neighbourhood. Spending time together as a family is something that is precious and should be encouraged. Parents play a major role in moulding the younger generation and shaping them into great individuals. Hence we should appreciate our parents for their sacrifices,” Liew added.

Liew was at EcoWorld International Centre (EWIC) to launch the start of EWRO Fest 2016 in the Klang Valley together with Tony Collingridge, Director of Trade & Investment at UK Trade & Investment, Malaysia; Dato’ Teow Leong Seng, President & CEO of Eco World International Berhad and Dato’ Voon Tin Yow, Executive Director of Eco World Development Group Berhad.

EWIC was decked up in style, featuring the United Kingdom as a natural choice. Highlights of the day included the appearance of the famed Corps of Drums of the Welsh Guards who not only performed but gave a tutorial on how to play the drums. Kids were also thrilled to have their caricatures drawn and had the chance to take photos with a living golden statue.

In Iskandar Malaysia, Dato’ Chang Khim Wah, President & CEO of Eco World Development Group Berhad launched EWRO Fest 2016 in Eco Tropics while in Penang, Dato’ S Rajoo, Chief Operating Officer of Eco World Development Group Berhad launched EWRO Fest 2016 in Eco Meadows.

Apart from EWIC, other EcoWorld Galleries featuring the United Kingdom include Eco Meadows, Penang and Eco Botanic in Iskandar Malaysia.

For visitors who missed out or could not get enough of EcoWorld’s ‘Under the Windmills’ festival last year, you can relive and enjoy the experience at Eco Sky in the Klang Valley. Activities such as Windmill Making, Pinwheel Making and Air Brush Painting / Tattoo will be fun for the kids while activities such as the Eco Car Wash will keep the adults occupied.

Proclaim Viva Italia! and experience what it is like to be in a Masquerade Parade and have a go at learning how to make a 2D Pisa Tower at Eco Spring & Eco Summer, Iskandar Malaysia. The Italian excitement is also available at Eco Majestic in the Klang Valley and visitors can witness performances such as the Tarantella Dance and the infamous PC Football Freestyle.

Parents will be delighted to know that there are several contests that they can bring their kids to participate in such as the Little Prince & Princess Contest at Eco Sanctuary in Klang Valley as well as the Kids Colouring Contest that will be held at Eco Terraces, Penang.

The festival will run from 10am to 8pm, 18 June to 3 July. Check out www.ewrofest.com.my to find out more.
