Eco World Foundation Strengthens Community Healthcare by Donating Two Haemodialysis Machines to Amitabha Foundation Dialysis Centre

Johor Bahru: In support of improved access to essential healthcare, the Eco World Foundation today donated two haemodialysis machines worth RM94,000 (RM47,000 per machine) to the Amitabha Foundation Dialysis Centre in Johor Bahru, enabling the centre to expand its treatment capacity and better serve patients requiring ongoing dialysis care.

The handover ceremony was attended by Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Chairman of Eco World Foundation together with Mr Phan Yan Chan, Chief Development Officer of Eco South & Business Park and received by Mr Jeffrey Lim, Amitabha Foundation Charity Director and Ms Chloe Chan, Amitabha Foundation General Manager.

“Behind every dialysis machine is a patient, a family, and a story of resilience. Through this donation, we hope to expand access to timely, reliable dialysis treatment, while supporting Amitabha Foundation’s meaningful work in providing life-sustaining treatment to the community,” said Tan Sri Lee.

Currently, the Amitabha Foundation Dialysis Centre, a non-profit and tax exempted organisation, operates with 18 machines, of which four units have reached the maximum life span of seven years. With this donation, the centre will be better positioned to accommodate more patients in need. To date, the centre provides treatment to 50 end-stage renal disease patients, supported by staff working two shifts daily, six days a week.

“At Eco World Foundation, our work has always centred on strengthening communities in meaningful and practical ways. By supporting healthcare access through initiatives like this, we hope to contribute towards improving quality of life for patients and families who depend on essential treatment,” added Tan Sri Lee.

Over the years, Eco World Foundation has contributed several haemodialysis machines to dialysis centres across the country, helping to strengthen treatment capacity and improve access to life-sustaining care for patients in need. This latest contribution to Amitabha Foundation reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to supporting community healthcare through practical and meaningful assistance.

While healthcare support remains an important area of focus, education continues to be the cornerstone of the Foundation’s work. Through the Eco World Students Aid Programme (SAP), the Foundation supports around 2,000 underprivileged students yearly with financial assistance, enabling them to pursue their studies with greater confidence and stability. Together, these initiatives reflect Eco World Foundation’s enduring commitment to uplifting lives through both care and opportunity.
