ECO WORLD FOUNDATION DONATES HAEMODIALYSIS MACHINE TO ST JOHN AMBULANCE MALAYSIA-KAWASAN PANTAI SELANGOR FOUNDATION

RAWANG: The Eco World Foundation marked another milestone in its commitment to community welfare by officially donating a haemodialysis machine worth RM52,000 to the St John Ambulance Malaysia-Kawasan Pantai Selangor Foundation. The machine will be used at the foundation’s centre in Rawang, which is dedicated to providing vital dialysis treatment to patients in need.

The handover ceremony on 24 January 2025 was attended by Eco World Foundation Chairman, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, and Chief Operating Officer of SJAM-KPS (Kawasan Pantai Selangor) Foundation, Dato’ Yeo Kim Thong.

“This donation comes at a critical time due to the pressing demand and the urgent need to replace aging equipment. The machine we are replacing has exceeded its life expectancy, and ensuring that patients receive uninterrupted, high-quality care is our utmost priority,” said Tan Sri Lee.

The centre currently operates with just seven haemodialysis machines, each capable of supporting only three patients. With a total of 20 patients relying on the centre for life-saving treatment, the shortage of functioning equipment has posed a significant challenge.

The donated machine will replace a unit that has been in operation for over a decade—well beyond the typical lifespan of 7 to 8 years for such equipment. By stepping in to address this urgent need, Eco World Foundation hopes to ensure the centre can continue serving its patients effectively.

“At EcoWorld, we are deeply committed to alleviating the burdens faced by communities in need. It gives us great satisfaction to know that this contribution will help ease the pain and financial stress experienced by patients with kidney failure,” added Tan Sri Lee.

This initiative is part of Eco World Foundation’s longstanding efforts to support NGOs across Malaysia where possible. Over the years, the foundation has contributed several dialysis machines, underscoring its unwavering dedication to healthcare accessibility.

“I encourage more organisations and individuals to join hands in supporting causes like this. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most,” Tan Sri Lee urged.

The Eco World Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to bring hope and relief to the communities it serves, one act of kindness at a time.
