#ANAKANAKMALAYSIA 2024: duduk Fun Run & Bazaar Celebrating Sustainability and Community

KAJANG: Eco World Development Group Berhad (EcoWorld Malaysia) held its annual #AnakAnakMalaysia (AAM) celebration this year at Eco Majestic. With the theme “We Care”, #AAM 2024 aims to foster unity, community spirit and environmental awareness.

While last year’s celebration focused on EV power, this year’s on 14 September 2024, featured the duduk Fun Run and Bazaar, which attracted 5,000 participants for the 5km race. Commenting on this year’s celebrations, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Chairman of #AAM 2024, said: “With the duduk Fun Run, EcoWorld hopes to raise awareness about reducing carbon emissions, aligning with the government’s goal to achieve a carbon-neutral nation by 2050.

“Also, in celebration of our nation’s 67th Independence Day and Malaysia Day, EcoWorld is proud to host programmes that promote unity and a healthier lifestyle. By coming together, regardless of our backgrounds, we can create a more vibrant and inclusive community.”

The run was officially flagged off by Tuan Mohd Fareez Bin Mohd Ariss @ Mohd Hatta, Deputy President of the Kajang Municipal Council, along with Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye; Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin, Executive Chairman of EcoWorld Malaysia; Dato’ Chang Khim Wah, CEO of EcoWorld Malaysia; and Evon Yap, Divisional General Manager of EcoWorld Malaysia.

Interestingly, the running medals for this event are made from a combination of natural materials, specifically recyclable zinc alloy, which is durable and helps reduce resource consumption.

No event is complete without food, drinks and a bit of retail therapy. The duduk Fun Bazaar, boasting over 40 vendors, including 17 local brands, offered participants and visitors a delightful shopping experience. The bazaar also served as a prime platform for entrepreneurs to connect with customers and promote local products, encouraging Malaysians to support their community.

In addition to live busker performances, the duduk Fun Bazaar featured exciting challenges like the Catch Stick Game Machine and Power Bike Pedal. In line with EcoWorld’s sustainability agenda, #AAM 2024 also provided Grab Car promo codes for eco-friendly transportation, cashless payment options, recycling facilities, and the Bring Your Own Bottle initiative.

EcoWorld also had the pleasure of hosting 50 students from the Eco World Foundation Students Aid Programme, representing nearby schools, for the duduk Fun Run.

“Our goal is to educate children about environmental protection and instil noble values. We hope these small steps inspire the public to embrace a greener lifestyle and contribute to a brighter future for Malaysia,” said Tan Sri Lee.
