A Taste of Ethnic Chinese Cuisine at Eco Grandeur

Puncak Alam: Following the successful launch of the “Bridging Hearts with Love” Chinese New Year (CNY) campaign, Eco World Development Group Berhad (EcoWorld Malaysia) hosted a thousand people for the Feast of Prosperity at its Eco Grandeur township in Puncak Alam last Saturday.

The Feast of Prosperity, a festive 8-course banquet serving authentic Chinese New Year dishes from various clans, marked the end of the month-long campaign. Participants were treated to not only good food but with an exuberant stage performance featuring a spectacular line-up of talented local artists.

The event began with a dynamic acrobatic lion dance performance by the UM Lion Dance Troupe, along with a graceful dance performance by the Han Fong Dance Ensemble. An energetic 24-season drum performance and the performance by EcoWorld Malaysia’s very own EcoWorld Symphony Drummers livened up the venue with festive and powerful beats. Beautiful tunes were also heard throughout the night with performances by the Colours of Voices Acapella group, the Malaysia Century Chinese Orchestra, Freddie and Catz as well as a performance by local singer Lim Wen Suen who was the winner of the inaugural The Voice Singapore and Malaysia.

Participants also received table gifts worth up to RM500, inclusive of vouchers worth RM220 courtesy of Kansai Paint.

The month-long Bridging Hearts with Love campaign was organised jointly by EcoWorld Malaysia and Sin Chew Media Corporation Berhad (SinChew). Running from 1st February to 2nd March, it was filled with an array of activities to celebrate the festivities.

The highlight of the campaign was the heart-warming three-part CNY greeting video that carries a strong message on family love and care, co-produced and starred by talents from both organisations.

The campaign also reached Eco Spring in Iskandar Malaysia and Eco Horizon in Penang on 24th February and 2nd March respectively. Both events had traditional food stalls and the must have signature Lion & Dragon dances alongside other traditional cultural activities such as the Paper Cutting Art workshop and Calligraphy workshop with a special CNY-themed Origami workshop as well.

The festivities were even more meaningful as the celebration was extended to those in need. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, both Groups hosted kids with special needs from the Persatuan Kebajikan Orang Kurang Upaya Xi Le Er Malaysia and Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation in Iskandar Malaysia; orphans from the St Joseph’s Home in Penang as well as the elderly from the Rumah Victory Elderly Home in the Klang Valley.

Members of the public also had the opportunity to participate in an online photography contest. Participants have to upload a photograph on either Facebook or Instagram which depicts the theme ‘Bridging Hearts with Love’ along with a meaningful caption as well as the following hashtags #EcoWorld #SinChewDaily and #bridgingheartswithlove.

The First Prize will walk away with a 10-day trip to Turkey for two, worth RM10,000, courtesy of Malaysian Harmony Tour & Travel. The Second Prize winner will receive a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and a Samsung Powerbank worth RM4,000, courtesy of KTS Cellular while the Third Prize winner will receive an Eu Yan Sang CNY Hamper worth RM1,399.
