EcoWorld officially launches its Polis Bantuan unit

Semenyih: Eco World Development Group Berhad (EcoWorld) today achieved a new milestone with the launch of its own auxiliary police unit. The launch of Polis Bantuan EcoWorld was held at Eco Majestic, the property developer’s flagship township in the Klang Valley.

Officiating the launch was Dato’ Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, Director of Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department and Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Deputy Chairman of the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) and Director of EcoWorld.

EcoWorld received approval for its own auxiliary police unit on 6 January this year for 93 personnel of various ranks in total. To date, there are 46 personnel serving in the auxiliary unit.

In his welcoming speech, Lee thanked PDRM for approving the setting up of Polis Bantuan EcoWorld and gave his assurance that the auxiliary police force would support and work closely with PDRM in preventing crime and ensuring a safer environment for the community in all of EcoWorld’s projects.

“The setting up of auxiliary police units is a good collaboration between the private sector and PDRM and has shown positive impact in society with the reduction of crime rates. These days, safety is an important factor for many communities, which is why the idea of community policing was introduced for better peace of mind,” shared Lee.

The auxiliary police officers had undergone 2 months of rigorous training in PULAPOL Langkawi. At the launch ceremony, the new graduates displayed skills they had learnt from their training in a short presentation.

Lee congratulated all the new graduates and urged them to do their utmost best in discharging their duties as auxiliary police.

EcoWorld also unveiled 9 patrol vehicles and 30 motorcycles that will be used by the auxiliary police force in their duties.

Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin, Chairman of EcoWorld said the Group was very proud to have its own auxiliary police unit. “It is indeed a great achievement for such a young company as EcoWorld and we are excited to have our own Polis Bantuan to serve EcoWorld’s community in our projects in the Klang Valley, Iskandar Malaysia and Penang.”
