SJK(C) Ton Fah to relocate to Eco Majestic

Semenyih: Eco World Development Group Berhad’s (EcoWorld Malaysia) flagship township in the Klang Valley, Eco Majestic announced today the relocation of SJK (C) Ton Fah from Beranang to the township. The announcement was made by Deputy Education Minister II Senator Datuk Chong Sin Woon when he visited the township and the new site of the school.

The new site for the school will be located on approximately six acres near the East Gate entrance of Eco Majestic. The estimated construction cost of the school is approximately RM8.5 million and EcoWorld Malaysia will also be contributing RM3 million towards its construction. Subject to the remaining funds being raised, construction is expected to start in the second quarter of this year which will enable physical works on the school building to be completed by 2020.

SJK (C) Ton Fah was established in 1910 and currently runs six classes and one pre-school class with 143 students. When its new premises is ready, the school is expected to have 16 classrooms and two pre-school classrooms and accommodate over 600 students. The new school will also include facilities such as a library, playground, computer room, covered basketball court cum assembly hall and football field.

“We are very excited with this announcement and welcome SJK (C) Ton Fah to Eco Majestic. Since the launch of Eco Majestic in 2014, we have continuously worked towards improving not only the infrastructure of the township but its amenities. Having a school here not only adds value but brings about more activity to the entire township,” said Dato’ Chang Khim Wah, President & CEO of EcoWorld Malaysia.

The relocation of SJK (C) Ton Fah represents the first of several initiatives EcoWorld Malaysia is putting in place to provide good quality facilities for education within its townships – this will benefit not just its residents but also the surrounding community. In this regard, Chang said more schools are being planned in other EcoWorld Malaysia townships with another two SJK (C) schools already confirmed for Eco Grandeur in Ijok and Eco Tropics in Pasir Gudang.

Chang added that the relocation of SJK (C) Ton Fah is another key milestone for this new township. In May last year, Eco Majestic handed over its first homes and consisting of over 600 units of Straits era-inspired two-storey terraced homes with colonial style architecture. The number of homes handed over has since increased to 1,200 units and by 2020, almost 5,000 units of homes will be handed over.

Other significant milestones for this 1,089-acre freehold development include the opening of a dedicated Lekas-Eco Majestic Interchange in October 2016 providing additional entry and exit points to the township via the East Gate (through Jalan Semenyih), North Gate (Exit 2012) and West Gate (Exit 2102A) from the Lekas Highway.

Apart from bridging physical connectivity with the completion of the interchange, EcoWorld signed a memorandum of service agreement with Telekom Malaysia Bhd in June 2016 to provide high-speed Internet connectivity of up to 30Mbps for residents.

On the commercial front, the 60.7ha commercial precinct called Eco Majestic City is nicely taking shape where 24’ x 80’ 2-storey shop offices called Whitten in Eco Majestic City with prices starting from RM1.93mil onwards was recently launched. The precinct includes the 18-acre Eco Majestic Park, a sports complex and convention centre which takes up 12 acres. An exciting new retail street is also being planned on 16 acres of land – all these amenities are targeted for completion in 2020, which will further add to the vibrancy of Eco Majestic.
