Prime Minister of Malaysia visits Embassy Gardens in London

LONDON: Embassy Gardens – a joint venture development by EcoWorld-Ballymore hosted the Prime Minister of Malaysia today in a simple ceremony that saw YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak officiate the topping out of the core for Legacy Building 1.

Located at the heart of Nine Elms, which is set to be London’s new diplomatic precinct with the planned relocation of the United States and Dutch embassies here, Embassy Gardens offers a distinctive architectural style with apartments nestled amongst landscaped public squares, a linear park and amenities such as a private club with its own library and gym, as well as a spa, cinema, café and bar.

One of three projects being developed by EcoWorld-Ballymore, Embassy Gardens Phase 2 is expected to deliver 709 private residential units and 163 units of affordable homes across three residential blocks ranging from 9 to 23 storeys. The units will also be complemented by 27,968 sq ft of commercial gross internal area. The development sits on a total land area of approximately 5.7 acres and has a GDV of GBP957 million.

“We are delighted to welcome the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Embassy Gardens as this topping out of the core for Legacy Building 1 marks a significant construction milestone for the EcoWorld-Ballymore partnership which is just over a year old. Since the formation of this JV company in January 2015, we have successfully launched three projects in London which are London City Island, Embassy Gardens and Wardian London,” said Chairman of Eco World Ballymore Holding Co Ltd Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin.

Embassy Gardens Phase 2 has been well received, recording total sales of GBP120.8 million as at 31 January 2016 following its launch in September last year.

Embassy Gardens is well served by public transportation, with Vauxhall station (National Rail and the London Underground) located within approximately one kilometre. From Vauxhall station, London’s West End (Oxford Circus) can be accessed within seven minutes and Canary Wharf can be accessed within 25 minutes. Public transportation in the Nine Elms area is expected to improve further with the planned extension of the Northern Line from the existing Kennington station to two new stations, namely the Nine Elms and Battersea stations both scheduled to be opened in 2020.

“Apart from Embassy Gardens’ strategic location right next to the new United States embassy, the development also pushes design boundaries with a showpiece 25-metre “floating” transparent sky pool. This architectural and engineering masterpiece will span across two of the blocks at 10 storeys above ground level. Annexed to the pool will be roof garden spaces with a conservatory space named “The Orangerie” for the residents to enjoy,” shared Dato’ Teow Leong Seng, President & CEO of Eco World International Berhad.

Construction works for Embassy Gardens Phase 2 project commenced in January 2016 and construction for all the blocks is expected to be completed in the first half of 2019.
