Eco Sky celebrates Merdeka Day with its first residential tower Aurora reaching the top

KUALA LUMPUR: Eco Sky, the first integrated commercial development by Eco World Development Group Berhad (EcoWorld) achieved a new high today with a topping out ceremony of its first residential tower called Aurora.

The 39-storey Aurora tower is the first residential tower to reach the top. The second tower Basalta has also reached the top at 39 storeys. The third and final tower Clarita which was launched in August 2014, is expected to reach the top at 41 storeys in 2018.

The 9.6-arce freehold Eco Sky is EcoWorld’s maiden project in the Klang Valley and was launched in December 2013. With a gross development value of RM974 million Eco Sky consists of three residential towers, 144 retail and office lots as well as a commercial pod.

Approximately 20% of Eco Sky’s land area are reserved for green spaces. As a GBI, LEEDS and BCA Green Mark certified project, Eco Sky is thoughtfully planned to contain a 33,000 sq ft community park, a 55,000 sq ft one-of-a-kind landscaped space at the heart of its commercial centre and a private clubhouse spanning over 100,000 sq ft. The clubhouse includes a 6,000 sq ft 2-storey gym, 3 pools – lap pool, wading pool and fun pool – a sky garden and a unique rooftop garden.

Speaking to guests and purchasers of Aurora Tower attending the topping out ceremony, President & CEO Dato’ Chang Khim Wah said: “Eco Sky embodies the concept of 360º Living that represents our commitment to sustainable development and the creation of a truly holistic offering within a single location.

“We are very excited with the this milestone achieved by Aurora and Basalta towers. The commercial hub has been up and running since early of this year and we are well on our way to making Eco Sky a lively and vibrant hub not only for its future residents but for the surrounding community,” said Chang.

Eco Sky’s commercial component – The Retail Offices, which offers over 100 units of retail shops designed to accommodate the city’s sophisticated shopping, dining, entertainment and lifestyle demands, was handed over in December 2016. Notable tenants such as Donutes, GTC Bridal, The One Lemon Fish Restaurant, De Veyron Café, Jeuner Beauty Academy Salon, Manulife, Mynews.com, Feruni, Mee Seng Optical, Proreno and KK Mart have moved in since then with more tenants moving in soon.

Since Eco Sky’s launch, around RM3 million has been spent to enhance and improve the surrounding area of the development, benefitting not only residents but the the neighbouring communities as well. Works include rejuvenating the landscape of a 2.72-acre neighbouring public green belonging to DBKL, located adjacent to Eco Sky’s community park as well as building a new covered and well-lit walkway to connect Eco Sky to the Taman Wahyu KTM station. Both works have completed and are open to the public since August 2015 and Dec 2016 respectively.

“We have always taken both the comfort and security of not only our residents, but also people entering and exciting Eco Sky into consideration as we want to provide opportunities for more recreational and social interaction to promote cohesiveness between residents, visitors and the local neighbourhood which they are a part of. We want to ensure that the community is well and able to grow and sustain for the long run,” added Chang.

Chang said EcoWorld was delighted to be able to hold the topping out ceremony close to Malaysia’s National Day. In conjunction with the Group’s on-going #AnakAnakMalaysia campaign, the event also saw the raising of the Jalur Gemilang. Two custom-made 55-metre long Malaysian flags will be hung from the top of Aurora tower to celebrate Malaysia’s 60th year of independence. Both towers have also been dressed up with the Malaysian flag on every floor.

Eco Sky is easily accessible via major highways such as the Duta–Ulu Klang Expressway, Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2, New Klang Valley Expressway and is only 15km away from KLCC. Residents who use public transportation need not worry as there is a pedestrian covered walkway to the nearest Taman Wahyu KTM station. In addition, the development is located near excellent amenities like Tesco, AEON Big Kepong, Jusco Metro Prima Shopping Centre, and the Selayang Hospital.
