KUALA LUMPUR: Eco World Development Group Berhad (EcoWorld Malaysia) and EcoWorld International Berhad (EcoWorld International) today announced that as at 31 August 2017 they had achieved total sales of RM2.39 billion and RM1.56 billion respectively - this brings total sales achieved under the EcoWorld Brand to RM3.95 billion in 10 months of the financial year ending 31 October 2017.
EcoWorld Malaysia’s 6 projects in the Klang Valley contributed RM1.80 billion, its 7 projects in Iskandar Malaysia contributed RM525 million and the current 2 projects in Penang contributed RM65 million. Meanwhile, EcoWorld International’s 3 projects in London recorded sales of GBP237 million (RM 1.31 billion) whilst its 2 projects in Australia contributed AUD73 million (RM 249 million).
President & CEO of EcoWorld Malaysia, Dato’ Chang Khim Wah, said “The strong sales pick-up of 40% in the 3rd quarter as compared to the 2nd quarter is very encouraging. During the first half of the year we were very busy handing over the first phases of properties sold and to date we have delivered close to 4,500 units to our purchasers.”
“We are delighted that the strong engagement with customers achieved during the handover process have resulted in positive word-of-mouth and increased referrals which boosted sales especially for Eco Majestic in Semenyih and Eco Spring, Eco Summer and Eco Tropics in Iskandar Malaysia,” he continued.
In the South-Eastern Klang Valley corridor, Eco Sanctuary continued to see good take-up for its luxurious bungalows and semi-dees situated within its final landed, gated and guarded precinct which was launched at the start of this year.
The three joint-venture projects launched late last year, namely, Eco Grandeur, Eco Ardence and Bukit Bintang City Centre also performed very well. In less than one year, these three new projects have locked-in cumulative sales of RM2.86 billion, out of which RM1.45 billion was achieved in FY2017.

“In Australia we recently completed our acquisition of an 80% stake in Eco World-Salcon Y1 Pty Ltd (“EW-Salcon”) which signals the entry of EcoWorld International into Melbourne. EW-Salcon is developing a lovely residential-led project known as Yarra One which is situated in one of the city’s most popular suburbs, South Yarra,” said Teow.
Yarra One comprises a 26-storey tower with 256 residential units complemented by a retail and office podium with the potential to deliver about AUD243 million in GDV. Following previews in early June 2017 to international customers in various major cities including Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta and Hong Kong, sales of AUD64.8 million were recorded based on contracts exchanged as at 31 August 2017.
For the remaining two months of the financial year the Group will be working towards achieving its sales target of RM4 billion from Malaysian projects and RM2.5 billion from International projects.
EcoWorld Malaysia is planning a massive 4-project mega-launch before the end of FY2017. Three new projects will be launched, namely, Eco Forest and Eco Business Park V in the Klang Valley as well as Eco Horizon in Penang, along with the 2nd phase of landed homes within Eco Ardence.
“Last year our EcoWorld’s Firsts Campaign where we launched 4 projects concurrently was a runaway success with more than RM1 billion worth of properties taken-up in a single day. This year we aim to repeat this feat and we are truly excited to show our customers what we have in store for them,” said Chang.
“At Eco Forest we have already completed our Sales Gallery and Show Village which has 8 distinctive show units to fully display the double storey homes included in the project’s maiden launch,” he said.
Eco Forest features classic colonial portico architecture and unique A-framed homes nestled amidst lush tropical greens. Inspired by the rainforests surrounding Broga Hills located nearby, nature and forest-themed design elements have been given full artistic expression from the majestic entrance gateway right through to individual details in the landscaping of the entire project. Further, with approximately 50 acres of land reserved for blue belts and green lungs, there will be ample open space for residents to jog and cycle in a scenic environment.
The EcoWorld Gallery @ Eco Horizon in Batu Kawan, Penang has also been completed and will be welcoming its first visitors as when the project hosts the final #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk on Malaysia Day. At 300 acres, this will be EcoWorld’s largest signature township in the northern region thus enabling the Group to fully showcase its design and masterplanning capabilities to its followers in Penang.
Back in the Klang Valley, the Group will be introducing its Eco Business Park series for the 1st time with the launch of Eco Business Park V. Multiple networking and business focus-group events have been held to share with industrialists, entrepreneurs and investors alike on the unique features of the Eco Business Park which have been very well received.
Finally, Dremien @ Eco Ardence will be unveiled – this eagerly awaited 2nd phase launch will showcase a fresh new iteration of the elegantly designed garden homes, semi-dees and bungalows ensconced within a luxurious and secured gated and guarded enclave.
On the international front, Yarra One will be officially launched in Melbourne by EcoWorld International before the end of the year with marketing efforts focused on attracting local Australian buyers. This is to take advantage of the attractive stamp duty incentives recently introduced by several state governments to assist local home buyers, particularly those buying for the first time, which took effect from 1 July 2017.

EcoWorld International also expects sales of its London projects to pick up in September – October 2017. This is on the back of several international roadshows which have been planned to promote its UK projects in tandem with local marketing campaigns targeting Londoners as they return from their summer vacations.
